Description:
Henri can't contain himself! Apart from painting an opulent and colourful garden; he is writing within the painting and at the back his feelings. They seem to completely overwhelm him. Henri had to give the painting several titles; seeing the various writing styles and markers, with underlining, exclamation mark, using an arrow, he really used all he had to express himself. I believe Henri is overjoyed because of his 4 grandchildren. With its last edition, Alyssa, born just a few months before this painting.

Côte d'Azur 1986

Description:
Here is an oil painting of Henri’s favourite travel destinations, the Cote d'Azur, the French Riviera at the Mediterranean Sea he visited in 1986. Here he paints a river outlet wedged between some sunbathing hills and mountain ridges. In this painting, Henri tries to express the effects of the long-lasting blistering sun so common in these Mediterranean landscapes. While Henri’s timing of this painting is a somewhat cooler day, with some little overcast; note that the contrast between the elements of water, air and land are still stark.

Henri loved his nature trips. This painting is from a summer trip to Texel, the 1st of a strain of the Dutch North Sea Islands, at the North of the Netherlands. These coast and agricultural fields have many lush grass fields with wild flowers blowing in the never-ending and relentless wind.

Dune Forrest at Bloemendaal 2000

Description:
Henri went regular to the Dutch dune forests at Bloemendaal. In this painting Henri captures the contrasting light in a forest gulley. The contrast is so stark, that the two sides almost look like two different paintings, but Henri creates a superb balance.

Henri's back garden in Amsterdam is in full bloom. A woman is hiding within the exuberant colourful foliage. I believe Henri painted his girlfriend Tienie C., with whom he shares the back garden.
