Saling at the Côte d'Azur
Description
Henri had a deep affection for France, and the French Riviera, the Côte d’Azur, was one of his favourite destinations. This vivid oil painting, captures a colourful Mediterranean coastline with rolling hills and vibrant vegetation. Sailboats glide over the deep blue – azure – sea, while rich, expressive brushstrokes and radiant colours bring the scene to life. The painting is a joyful and emotional impression of Southern France, filtered through Henri’s unique and ever-moving palette.
Gentle Trees
Description
A cascade of autumn colour tumbles down like a shimmering veil in this impressionist celebration of a willow tree in full seasonal transformation. Likely inspired by the mature trees of Amsterdam’s Vondelpark, Henri’s loose, layered brushstrokes in fiery reds, soft pinks, golden ochres, and cool greens evoke a fountain of falling leaves — radiating warmth, movement, and a quiet, gentle romantic serenity.
White Lilies in Vase
Description
Henri just loved flowers. Here he painted a bouquet of white Lilies in a vase standing on his dining table in his retro styled kitchen. Henri beautifully combines the bold coloured square tiles and the bright playful Lilies.
Blooming Garden
Description
Henri's back garden in Amsterdam is in full bloom. A woman is hiding within the exuberant colourful foliage. I believe Henri painted his girlfriend Tienie C., with whom he shares the back garden.
Wild Garden Flowers
Description
These opulent flowers are a typical impressionist colour explosion. In this painting, Henri expresses his love for the wild flowers in a corner of his garden, bathing in the summer sunlight.
Late Summer Bloom
Description
A jubilant farewell to the season, this impressionist oil painting captures Henri’s Amsterdam garden brimming with late-summer vitality. Dappled light dances across the canvas in radiant greens, amber golds, and bursts of floral colour, as if the garden itself resists the fading sun. Expressive brushstrokes and layered textures give the scene a sense of movement and richness — nature’s final flourish before the turn of autumn.
